Where Can You Find Motorcycles for Sale?

It may seem like motorcycles for sale are everywhere, but just how reliable and dependable are these resources? A motorcycle can be a great investment and an important aspect of your life. Bikes are statements of your personality and a reflection of your lifestyle. Like many people, you can't just stop at one bike; you often want multiple options or even to start collecting them. In regards to these individuals, a standard visit to the local dealership may not be enough. Here, you can learn about the different places that are available where you can explore your options and get the best deal.
One natural starting place to find motorcycles for sale is the local dealership. You may be surprised at how few there may be in your local area. Naturally, these shops set up where there is enough demand, and depending on your region, there simply may not be enough demand. If this is the case, first research the dealership before you travel halfway across the state. Research is simple with the internet and review websites. You may also want to turn to local people, who you know are experienced in purchasing, and ask them for recommendations. Word of mouth is generally a high indicator of reliability. These places are great because you can try out the bike that you have been eyeing, and speak to a knowledgeable individual in person.
If dealerships are not an option or if you are looking for a more rare or vintage model, check out eBay and Craigslist. While these are not the most dependable resources, they can turn up great bargains and treasures. If you decide to use these resources for motorcycles for sale, you need to increase the amount of research you do. It's not enough that you are familiar with the model that is up for sale; you need to know about the condition, the fair market value, and the common problems. Some of these sellers may not be very forthcoming with their information or may be completely clueless. For these transactions, bring a knowledgeable friend or hire a consultant. Of course, if the price is right and the interest is high, you may just want to take that risk and roll the dice.
Another great resource is online brokers that match individuals to the bikes of their dreams. This is a premium service but you can generally expect to get what you pay for, which is amazing dedication and likely a great purchase. You should turn to this when you really want a particular bike. You should have the model, year, condition, and your desired price in mind before you contact one of these services. That way, the broker can start their work immediately rather than spend time trying to consult with you on all the different models that may fit your ideal vision.
It's time to get that motorcycle you have always wanted. Start your research the right way and head over to http://www.motorcityharley.com/.

Top Signs Your Car Needs Auto Repair!

Like going to a doctor when you get sick, auto repair is occasionally necessary to keep your car healthy and functional. Sometimes, a car's problems are difficult to detect, and can only be treated once the damage is done. Many other times, however, auto repair costs can be minimized by early detection of key indicators that may signify car trouble. While these examples are by no means complete, they do present a good start!
Does your engine whine or rumble when pumping the breaks at a stop sign? If so, this may be an early indication of brake pads beginning to wear down. While not initially a serious problem, this should be taken to an automotive repair shop sooner than later. Replacing brake pads is a relatively simple and inexpensive task. Wait too long, however, and it could result in lengthier, not to mention costlier, fixes! Just knowing you can come to a full and complete stop whenever necessary will probably make those morning commutes a little less stressful.
Sometimes while driving, people may notice the faint (or, unfortunately, strong) scent of burning oil. This is almost undoubtedly due to a leak somewhere under your vehicle, which is causing motor oil to sizzle against the hotter parts in the system. Most people don't wish to smell like hot petroleum every time they arrive at their destination, but they also probably don't want to pay for continual oil refills. Like brake pads, this is an easy problem to ignore, but the benefits of early auto repair are far more economical, safe, and altogether less smelly in the long run.
So, you're able to stop whenever you want to, and your car no longer trails smoke. But now, your ride feels springier, and it's beginning to give you a bit of a headache. Sounds like your shocks are wearing down. Kids bouncing around in the backseat may think the drive is a lot more fun, but your chassis is suffering for it. Shock systems often deteriorate after regular exposure to rough roads, or just general overuse. So, replacing them when necessary will smooth out those trips a whole lot more.
While these tips are for just a few of the more easily detectable and fixable problems, just being on the lookout for these indicators will save you stress and money. In general, if something feels off, it just might be! Regular auto repair shop visits will help keep you and your loved ones (including your car!) safe and sound as you drive through life.

Top Tips for Fuel Efficient Driving

Expert Author Larry Luther
Today, people need more fuel efficient vehicles. The automobile industry is booming, petrol prices are steadily hiking, and global warming is taking a turn for the worst- as a consumer with multiple choices and responsibilities to keep in mind while driving, here are our top tips for fuel efficient driving.
· The way you drive can make the biggest difference to how much fuel you save or waste. Remember, its a car, not a battering ram, so don't hit the brakes on your vehicle with force. Stopping and starting time and again eat away at your fuel in an enormous capacity. Aim for smooth and steady drives.
· If your vehicle uses a manual gearbox, try to shift into the highest gear as early as possible for maximal fuel efficiency. Driving in a lower gear than necessary consumes fuel more quickly, as a rule. Power options tend to ease the car into lower gears, so evade them as far as possible.
· Your money's turning into thin air! Avoid fuel evaporation by screwing the gas cap onto your car very securely after filling the tank and by parking in the shade to prevent overheating- this also reduces the necessity for air conditioning. If winters are frosty where you live, you can use a block heater when temperatures fall below -20 degrees Celsius, to keep your engine oil and coolant heated.
· Don't let your car idle. Yes, the traffic light will go green at any moment, but a significant portion of fuel will burn away while you wait for it. Turn off your ignition if you're waiting outside someone's home, or in front of the supermarket.
· Avoid speeding at all costs- not only might you have a nasty run in with the law, but upwards of 75-90 miles/h, your car may use up to 25% more fuel than if you stick to the speed limit or stay below 65 miles/h.
· Your tires are big contributors to the way your car treats fuel. Tires inflated to the correct pressure level and low-resistance tires (eco-friendly tires are built to reduce rolling resistance) provide a quantifiable advantage in fuel efficiency. For every increment of underinflation equal to 5% of the ideal pressure in a car's tires, there is a 1% reduction in the vehicle's fuel efficiency.
· Try to avoid channelling power and thus fuel to components you aren't using, or don't necessarily require. For example, a mini fridge, television console, boombox, or even the air conditioning.
· Get your car in the workshop for servicing at the recommended times. If your air filters are unclean, if your engine oil has been unchanged for over 5000 miles, or if your engine is poorly tuned, your fuel economy could be in trouble.
· Make sure you haven't rendered your car un-aerodynamic with any unwieldy accessories on the outside. These create drag that slows your car down and causes depletion in fuel efficiency. Drag is also created by leaving windows open when driving at high speeds and weighing your car down by filling up the trunk with unnecessary junk. Toss it
· The most obvious way to economize on fuel would be to drive less. Learn to navigate in a way, that saves time and distance travelled, and try to anticipate traffic jams and road blockages- for example, in the cases of heavy rains or festivals.
These foolproof tips should have you on your way to reducing harmful carbon emissions and making the most of one of the world's most precious commodities. There are plenty of fuel efficient cars for sale and you just need to choose the right one!

What To Watch For In 2015
The Golf GTI is available in three models in 2015, the S, the SE, and the four-door Autobahn. In addition, there are more packages of features to allow you to customize your car.
Performance Features In The 2015 Golf GTI
All models come standard with 2.0 L TSI, 16 valve, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with intercooler and FSI direct fuel injection, 210 HP, and 250 pounds per foot of torque. The Performance Package increases the power to 220 HP, adds larger brakes and a torque-sensing electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
The SE and Autobahn models with the Performance Package also offer the dynamic tampering system called Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC). A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while an automatic with Tiptronic, sports mode, and steering wheel mounted paddle shifters is an option available on all three models.
2015 Golf GTI Put To The Test

Experts from Cars.com, MotorWeek, USA Today and an actual car shopper for a performance car evaluated eight contenders in a series of tests conducted on a closed track and on various roads to simulate real driving.
The tests included:
  • 0-60 mph time and quarter-mile times and speeds
  • Braking distance at 60 mph to 0
  • 200 miles of driving on streets and highways
  • Round-robin driving for street driving, so each expert could evaluate all cars in the test group back to back
The results? According to Joe Weisenfelder, Executive Editor at Cars.com, "Not only does the all-new 2015, Volkswagen Golf GTI offer the best performance bang for the buck, it is also one of the most comfortable. The GTI outperformed most cars in just about every test we conducted. Also, unlike some of the other Cheap Speed competitors, the GTI offers an impressively roomy and high-quality interior as well as being seriously fun to drive."
Performance, Safety, And Practicality.
What this means for you as a Golf GTI driver is that the car will offer you the zip you need on the road, whether you are commuting to work, driving your kids to soccer practice, or cruising along the open highway. As the new model is made from stronger, lighter ultra-high-strength steel, you will find the car offers improved handling along with improved gas mileage. When equipped with standard features plus a Driver Assistance Package that includes Forward Collision Warning and Park Distance Control (PDC) with front and rear proximity sensors, the car is so safe that it is a 2014 Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
When researching new Volkswagen cars, consider the 2015 Golf GTI for the perfect family friendly performance car.

In the commuter bike segment, Hero Moto Corp is the largest manufacturer in the world. The Hero brand has many vehicles in the 100 to 220 cc segments. Hero Ignitor, a 125 cc commuter bike, is quite popular.
Hero Ignitor was launched in 2012 and is a re-badged version of the Hero Honda Stunner. When Hero and Honda went separate ways, it was decided that the new company, Hero MotoCorp, would share technology and products with the Japanese manufacturer till 2014.
The Ignitor showcases a sporty look with its matt black paint on the engines. The Ignitor comes with split seats, red painted rear shock absorbers, and snazzy graphics. The headlamps are wider, which make it look different from the Stunner. The split seats are comfortable for the driver; the pillion seat is a bit on the harder side. The power switch on the ignitor switch gear is a bit oddly placed and it is quite a Herculean task to switch it on.
The handle bar and the foot peg are positioned in such a way that the rider sits upright. The Ignitor comes in shades of pearl white, sports red, vibrant blue and panther black. The Ignitor console has a new instrument cluster which comes with a digital speedometer, one trip meter, a fuel gauge and an analogue tachometer. The instrument has a good font size. The bike has kick and electric starts and also gets an analogue fuel gauge. The instrument cluster remains backlit always.
The Ignitor has a 124.7 cc engine which generates 11 bhp power and11 NM torque. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gear box. The claimed mileage of the Ignitor is 62 kmpl. The actual overall mileage may fall between 55 to 60 kmpl. The Ignitor has a 3 Ah battery and a 35 W multi reflector halogen headlight.
The Ignitor has 240 mm petal disc at the front and 130 mm solid disc at the rear. The dimensions of this bike are 2010 mm length, 710 mm width, and 1095 mm height with a 175 mm ground clearance. The fuel tank capacity is 9 L with a 1.4 L reserve. This bike has tubeless tyres of sizes 80/100x17"-46P and 100/90x17"-55P.
The maintenance free battery and a better city mileage are the plus points of the Ignitor. The engine has been re-tuned for better performance in the city. The updated engine has a good amount of punch in the lower rev range. However, the performance fades away once you reach the mid range and is almost non-existent in the higher range. The gear shifts are smooth.
It comes in two variants priced Rupees 61,000 with drum brakes and 63,000 for the disc variant.

Top 10 Motorcycles Accidents Every Biker Should Avoid

Expert Author Uma Daga
If you are reading this, you are obviously desirous of knowing more about the motorcycle accidents that all bikers should avoid? Motorcycle riding is dangerous. Fortunately, bikers like you have access to some of the best possible means of avoiding accidents -- obstruction-free vision, incredibly powerful brakes, very tires with firm grips and excellent handling capabilities. Despite all this, you are always apprehensive of meeting with an accident.
Read on for more on the top 10 motorcycles accidents every biker should avoid.
#10 Lack of Motorcycle Safety
Lack of education in regards to motorcycle safety increases your odds of crashing. Accidents generally occur when riders refrain from completing their basic rider courses or when they resist from investing in the right safety gear. Helmets, biking gloves and other safety tools not only make the act of biking more comfortable, they also go a long way in preventing injuries during a crash. Fluorescent colored jackets/ suits and head gear also increase your visibility on the roads and prevent the occurrence of common accidents.
#9 A Vehicle turning Left in Front
This is one of the most common reasons behind motorcycle accidents. A car driver may fail to see you coming or may judge your position incorrectly-thus turning towards the left at an intersection. Blame distraction, inattention, blind spots or even psychology; most car owners/ drivers perceive safety in the absence of cars and often forget the presence of motorcycles. Your job as a biker is to nurture a precognitive sixth sense, slow down at intersections, cover your brakes and prepare to undertake evasive action. Additionally, you need to look for gaps in the traffic and account for all objects that fall outside your vision.
# 8 Hitting Gravel near a Blind Corner
You're out riding on twisted roads, when all of a sudden and without any warning, you swerve around the corner-only to find yourself going headlong into a pile of gravel, sand, horse dung, leaves or just about anything else in your path. You find your front tire going all inside the same; and you wipe out. This is totally avoidable. You can refrain from hitting the pile by riding at a pace where the ability to take action and overall reaction time aligns with your range of vision. Follow the rule of thumb: "Slow In, Quick Out". This rings all the more true around sharp corners; here you need to enter wide, increase your eye-span and take the turn at an easy pace.
# 7 Locking of the Front Brake
Something just stopped the traffic. You continue to grab a fistful of your front brakes and find yourself lying on the ground, staring at your motorcycle cart wheeling down the street. It's well advised to learn the right ways of using the front brakes. Though counterintuitive at times, they are the most difficult-to-master and powerful components on your bike. In short, these brakes are the right tools to bring about alterations in your speed and are far more impactful that the engine. These days, motorcycles come equipped with ABS, which require you to squeeze the lever hard; whenever you desire to make an emergency stop.
# 6 A Car in Front Opens its Door
You see a big gap in between a stationary line of pea time traffic and a row of pared cars and proceed to scoot through it. Out of the blue, a passenger swings his car door open -right there in front of you! This commonly occurring type of motorcycle accident is surely avoidable. Never ride between rows of parked and active cars. Apart from doors opening wide, you can find yourself crashing into pedestrians stepping out, cars pulling to the side and many other unprecedented hurdles. With collisions being inevitable, it helps to slow down a bit or brake in the most powerful way.
# 5 It's So Slippery!
Riding under cloud laden skies can be cool, but then they are linked to rains which can make your way frightfully slippery. Many road accidents take place during the wet seasons and can prove to be fatal for bikers who fail to have decent tires under them or are silly enough to think that running track rubber are the wrong idea on such roads. Motorcycles with appropriately well maintained tires are designed to take snowy as well as rained in roads with flair. However, it's important to go slow and easy with the controls in your hands.
# 4 Vehicle Changes Lanes Into You
You find yourself riding in traffic; suddenly, a car that was so long been in another lane chooses to change its mind and comes into the space that you were planning to occupy. While tiny motorcycles conveniently fit into blind spots, car drivers are not psychologically programmed to observe motorcycles-therefore resulting in a crash. It is good to be totally aware of all such blind spots en route and spend as little time as possible near them. Always find yourself where you can see the driver's eye in your mirror; they will be able to see you too.
# 3 Car Hits from the Rear
You have come to a near halt at an intersection, cross walk, stop sign or a pedestrian crossing. However, the driver just behind you fails to see you and plows headlong at a high speed. This proves to be fatal too. The best way of avoiding this sort of accident is by using cars as your personal crumple zone and steering in front of them-so as to avoid any impact from vehicles coming in from behind. In a nutshell, stay safe by cushioning yourself from any subsequent impacts.
# 2 Non-compliance to Traffic Rules
You may be following the traffic rule book to the hilt but the excited child crossing the road or the young lass chatting to her boyfriend on the phone (while overtaking you) may not. What happens? You end up in a completely avoidable mess that can inflict harsh injuries or death. It's recommended to keep your guards on and believe that people are out on the streets to break regulations. This will help you remain more alert and safer than in usual circumstances.
# 1 Biking with Excessive Loads
Every motorcycle is specifically designed to carry a pre-defined load. Any extra baggage or weight of pillion riders can make it go off balance or result in an accident. Understandably, this is one of the main reasons why younger bikers find themselves in avoidable conditions after a binge or college party. So, it is best to stick to the rules and pile on as much weight as you can easily mange.
Be safe!

Topics in Motorcycle Repair Technician Courses

Expert Author Cee Rose
The responsibilities of a motorcycle repair technician include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing motorcycles, mopeds, scooters, ATVs, and other small engine vehicles. These individuals also typically have motorized vehicles of their own, and are passionate about these types of vehicles. In today's modern world, motorcycle service/repair technicians use computer diagnostic equipment to find operating malfunctions on small engine vehicles. They then use their understanding of these machines to repair items such as transmissions, engines, and brakes.
Those who wish to pursue this career should participate in a motorcycle repair technician course to learn more about the tasks they will be expected to complete in this work place. These individuals must be experienced in working with small engine vehicles, and understand topics such as clutches, tires, inspections, ignitions, brakes, and electrical fundamentals, among other subjects. While in these courses, students may also learn about engine configuration, ignition and compression, steering systems, warning gauges, and wheel assemblies.
Another important skill in this job includes understanding how to troubleshoot this type of machine. While computer diagnostics have made this procedure less arduous, repair technicians must still be able to actually work on small engine vehicles and fix a problem. This may necessitate trial and error stages, which require a large amount of know-how from the technician. The more these technicians understand the vehicle, the better they will be at their job. Troubleshooting may also be beneficial to individuals who own their own motorcycle or similar vehicles.
Motorcycle repair technician courses should also teach students about fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, clutch systems, electrical measurement, and AC and DC currents. By understanding how these systems work, students may grasp why a certain system isn't maintaining optimal operational procedures, and how to fix the problem. Students should also learn how to completely dismantle an engine and put the parts back together, as well as be able to recognize defective parts.
Finally, while not necessary, a love of small engine vehicles may be extremely beneficial in this job. As mentioned in the introductory paragraph, motorcycle repair technicians usually have motorcycles of their own, and hold a passion for these types of vehicles. An individual who brings their own vehicle to a repair shop is expecting the best care possible for their ride, and is more liable to feel at ease handing their vehicle to the shop if they feel the technician holds the same enthusiasm for the machine.
While this career doesn't typically require a degree from a university, a high school diploma plus a training course is usually mandatory. A training course may be completed either in person or through online courses. Proper training may be obtained from participating in a motorcycle repair technician course, and gaining certain skills and knowledge from this class. These individuals must also be somewhat computer-savvy in order to understand and operate the proper computer diagnostic equipment.

First light and the desperate search for MH370 resumes: 29 planes, 21 ships and six helicopters hunting 'debris' of missing plane spotted in Indian Ocean

MH370
The exhaustive search operation for two large objects spotted by a British satellite has been bolstered by extra military and commercial vessels and much clearer weather, as officials scramble to cover the massive 600,000 square-kilometre search area some 2,500 kilometres off the coast of Perth. Five military aircraft including two Royal Australian Air Force P3 Orions were dispatched this morning on the four-hour flight to the search zone. Pictured, a buoy is dropped from a Royal Australian Air Force plane to measure currents and tides as a sergeant plots a path to the search zone.

Pilot of missing jet made mystery call before takeoff: report

The pilot of missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 made a mystery call just minutes before takeoff in Kuala Lumpur.
A report in The Sun said investigators are trying to work out who Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah spoke to in the cockpit before taking off for Beijing.
It is hoped the person on the other end of the call will provide a key clue to understanding the mystery of the missing flight.
Malaysian authorities have not commented on the lead or confirmed a phone call took place.
This information comes on the heels of a revelation that files had been deleted on Feb. 3 from Shah’s home flight simulator, just over a month before MH370 vanished.

Malaysia’s defense minister said they are working to restore the files to see if they will shed any light on what happened to the aircraft.
MH370 disappeared with 239 people on board on March 8.
The report comes as Australian authorities head to an area of the southern Indian Ocean off Western Australia where debris has been spotted by satellite.
The objects captured four days ago in one of the most isolated places in the world include one piece measuring 24 meters long and another about five meters in length.
Four aircraft are searching a 23,000 square kilometer area, which has been deemed the “best lead yet.”
