The Most Common Signs You Need Brake Repair

Expert Author Andrew Stratton
Brake repair is not something that happens out of nowhere. In fact, most vehicles will show signs of needing repairs months or longer before there is a failure of the system. Yet, treatment of these concerns is vitally important. Do not put it off. The reason for this is simple. Putting it off could lead to significant risk to you and your family. A braking system that is not functioning properly can fail at any time. More so, the longer you wait to get help, the more likely it will be that this process will cost you more.
Check It Out
The first step you can take when it comes to monitoring for brake repair needs is simply to visually inspect the system. Look at the pads themselves. You can see them through the spaces between the wheel's spokes. You will see the outside of the pad pressed against the rotor. There should be at least a ¼ of an inch pad here. If there is less than this, it is time for replacement.
What You Hear Matters
It is also important to listen to your vehicle. Often, these repairs provide a clear sound when there is a problem. Think metal-on-metal rubbing together. Often, you will hear a high-pitched screeching sound when you touch the brakes in the vehicle to slow it down. This is usually a good indicator of a problem. It is a warning that your pads need replacement. The more frequent this gets, the more important it is to get the vehicle in to a tech.
The Way It Feels
While you are driving, you may notice changes in the function of your vehicle. These are also good indications that the brakes need attention. For example, if you notice that it takes longer to stop, this indicates a problem with responsiveness and fading. Get it taken care of soon. If you notice the vehicle is pulling to one side when you are applying pressure to the brakes, this also indicates a key problem that needs attention. Vibration, grinding and even a growling sound are all instances where repairs are necessary. The sooner you get these serviced, the better it will be for your vehicle.
Brake repair does not have to be expensive. Though it can be more expensive the longer you put it off, the safety it provides far outweighs the monetary investment you make. In fact, the longer you wait to get repairs, the more likely it is that your system will begin to damage to the rotors and other components of the car. That will be expensive to fix. If you have any of these warning signs, make an appointment with a technician to get the system checked.

Revealed - Learning to Spot an Acura Transmission Problem

Expert Author Denise Beresford
Acura transmissions are not invincible. Eventually, the transmission will wear out and will need to be repaired or completely replaced. For any driver the most important thing is being able to find the problem early and then be able to solve it. Catching issues early nearly always results in mountains of money being saved when taking the vehicle to a mechanic. That's why this guide is imperative for drivers who want to check their transmission.
Shifting is Hard
Hard shifting is a sign that the performance of a transmission is starting to slip. It's an issue that appears in both automatic and manual cars, and the symptoms are different when it comes to each type of car.
Automatic Acura drivers will see the problem as a jerky shuttering when attempting to shift between gears. Sometimes the shaking will become erratic and the car will seem confused as to which gear it needs to be in. Manual Acura transmissions are different, however, in that it simply becomes more difficult to put the car in the correct gear. Apart from the NSX supercar, all Acura vehicles are front-wheel drive so the shaking will be more noticeable due to the increase in hardness.
Cold Shift
Experiencing shifting issues during cold weather is not a sign that the transmission has broken or that it has an immediate problem it's merely an early sign that there will be a problem at some point. Again, there's a difference between manual and automatic cars in that the symptoms are slightly different.
Automatic Acura cars will feel as if the engine is actively fighting against shifting to a certain gear, even when the correct RPM ranges have been entered into. Manual cars will have trouble getting their vehicle into the correct gear as a feeling of sluggishness will be felt. Both of these symptoms will disappear once the weather begins to get better, though. Don't ignore the issue even if it goes away as it's an early wake-up call to take it in for a check-up with a mechanic.
Slippage
When gears start to slip within Acura transmissions it's a serious warning sign that the whole system is about to collapse and that the driver needs to get it in for repair. In this situation the symptom is the same for both automatic and manual transmissions in that the gears won't catch when the shifting process is initiated. Of course, this symptom will express itself in a slightly different way when it comes to the different types of transmission.
Short bursts of extreme RPMs will be present when the transmission attempts to shift through the gears, whereas manuals will require the clutch to be let out slower for the gears to catch. A caught transmission may even be felt long after the gear has been shifted, although when it comes to Acura cars with a hydraulic clutch it could actually indicate a problem with a leaky master cylinder.

Motor Oil Grades, Quality Performance Standards

Expert Author Chris Filips
A key consideration for engine care is choosing motor oil grades which will best deliver good, reliable engine performance, depending on the conditions under which you use your vehicle.
So what does a car owner look for to give them confidence the motor oil they choose will be the most appropriate one for their particular make and model? There are a number of benchmarks or performance standards which indicate the motor oil grade and when a particular lubricant can be used.
The Society of Automotive Engineers (or SAE) is one such rating which explains the function of the motor oil and its viscosity. The viscosity of a given engine oil is a measure of how easily the oil flows as temperature changes, bearing in mind the oil will flow more easily when the engine is hot compared to when you first start a cold engine.
You will find a logo or benchmark on cans of motor engine oil, which is effectively a stamp of approval by respected organisations and so gives credibility to the engine oil and lubricant retailer, and reassures the purchaser that a widely accepted standard has been met.
Depending on which part of the world you live in, there will be one of the following two designations. The API (American Petroleum Institute) is one such accreditation given to an engine oil product. The customer will have confidence that the API standard makes a statement as to the performance level to be expected from the oil, whether it is for cars, vans or light trucks.
The performance of a motor oil has various service (=S) categories, and the container holding the engine oil product will show this within the benchmark logo, for example, look for the symbol SN or SL. For diesel engines, as these come under the Commercial sector, the symbol begins with a 'C'.
The other certification which you should look out for is the ACEA (=Association des Constructeurs Europeens d'Automobiles) and is more likely to be displayed in EU countries. It is possible the product you buy displays both standard marks for motor engine grade and performance. Under ACEA, the letter 'A' stands for petrol engine, while 'E' denotes heavy duty diesel. For example, the designation A3 means 'high performance, and /or extended drain.'
In addition to the retail product bearing the stamp of approval from either or both the API and the ACEA, sometimes the motor oil will also show approvals by some of the motor car manufacturers (or OEM's original equipment manufacturer) themselves.
So in looking specifically at viscosity or the flow rate of the lubricant, the benchmark on the motor oil container may state for example SAE 5W-30. When compared to other oils this will tell you how this particular motor oil grade will perform under different conditions.
The number without a 'W' preceding it refers to oil viscosity that has been tested at 100 degrees centigrade or the assumed temperature for an engine running normally. But the challenge is to have a motor oil grade which gets the oil flowing to the moving parts in a cold engine, such as when you start up in the morning. The quicker cold engine oil flows, the less wear and tear on the key engine parts over time.
So for example, the above 5W-30 motor oil grade would perform like a SAE 5 oil at the lower temperature specified, yet would have the viscosity of SAE 30 grade at normal engine temperatures (given as 100 degrees centigrade). It is best to refer to the manufacturer's engine manual to be clear about which motor oil grade is best for your vehicle.
There is also another body, the International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC), jointly set-up by US and Japanese motor manufacturers, which also recommends motor oil grades which comply with the API standard.
With these various benchmark approvals displayed on lubricant and engine oil containers, together with the information from the manufacturers manual, the car owner should be confident they have the optimum motor oil grade for their car.

Top 5 Safety Tips For Road Trips

Many times in our hectic lives we decide last minute to take a break from the rat race. While it always is nice to decide something last minute. Safety is something that should be decided in advance. You need to be prepared at all times while riding a motorcycle only allows you to enhance your safety. I am going to share with you what I feel is my top 5 tip or items to always have with you when you are traveling. While it does take some time to get these things gathered and some purchased. Many of these tips are a one shot deal, and once you have added them to your road plans you will not have to think about them again. But will be very thankful you have them god forbid you have problems.
Tip1: Fist Aid Kit. Always remember to purchase a complete First Aid Kit and bring it along with you. Now days First Aid Kits can be pretty extensive, I feel that the more variety is always the best choice. We sometimes forget to restock the First Aid Kit once we have used something out of it. The best habit to get into is when you use something make sure it is replaced before going out again. A couple of add ins for the First Aid Kit is a cell phone, flashlight, spare cash, a map of where you are traveling, food, and fresh water. Make sure that your cell phone is fully charged and you have new batteries in your flashlight. An hour long trip can turn into 6-9 hour trip quickly and you will want to make sure that your battery will last those extra hours. Spare cash is always a good habit to get into. Having saddlebag or extra storage on your motorcycle for these items is a great idea. Putting that extra cash that you don't touch unless it's an emergency is a great safety tip.
Tip2: Light weight blanket. Putting a light weight blanket or extra clothing in your saddlebag or storage bags on your motorcycle will come in handy if you run into unexpected travel conditions. Depending on the time of year of travel and area you are traveling in you will want to adjust the thickness of these items. If god forbid something happened and you had to wait for help while it got chilly it is nice to have that spare clothing or blanket to keep warm.
Tip3: Travel as a group. Traveling as a group, not only increase your visibility on the road but also adds to the number of helping hands if something where to go wrong. Another great benefit to traveling in a group is that you have more resources in an accident. Many people react differently when in stressful situations and having extra people to help calm the chaos can make things easier to deal with.
Tip 4: Check Road Conditions. It may not sound like something you should have to do if you travel the same road all the time, but things change without notice and you must always be prepared. If traveling somewhere new it is always a good idea to check on the internet for any advice on the area in which you will be traveling or asking someone you know, who has traveled there before. Checking a couple days in advance is always good, but don't forget to check as your walking out the door.
Tip 5: Let Someone Know: It may sound a bit strange that once we have grown up and are out on our own that we should still have to check in with someone. Letting someone know where you plan on traveling helps them to know that you are safe. Making a plan on where you will be at what time helps so if something happens they can let the authorities know a more specific location. A good idea is to always call when you have arrived at your location and at least one call along the way if it is going to be more than a 5 hour ride. Always lean toward the side of caution.
There are many more things that you should take into consideration when planning a trip on the open road. Many times things will change depending on what trip you are taking, but these are my top 5 tips for any type of road trip to add to your safety. Going on rides is a wonderful adventure that changes every time, to keep them on a positive note being prepared is a necessity.

Buying Parts: Do I Have To Use One Manufacturer? By Dravor Spencer

Expert Author Dravor Spencer
There is one thing that is pretty common on almost all scooter and even some larger bikes, the handlebars. In most all cases where a bar measures larger than 22.2mm/ 7/8", from the center of the bar to the controls it will taper down to the 7/8"/22.2mm controls. This allows for most all grips and controls to work between many types of bikes. This also allows them to be used with many types of bar stems to hold on to the bars as well. Grips are also all universal, so you have choices in rubber to foam to add as much hand grip and/or comfort as you need or want. Some gauges are also universal, as reading head temperature, water temperature, RPMs, fuel level, and lambda (air/fuel ratio) readings are all standardized in many cases. It's usually the sensors themselves than can be specialized to the gauges.
Lights and their controls can also be universal or be used between manufacturers, but some wiring may need to be done to make them work. There may also be some bracket fabrication required to make a light fit or work, too. There are also universal lights that only require a power and a ground to work. Flasher Relays are fairly universal, but even adapting them isn't much of a challenge if you're good at crimping wires together. A couple of spade terminals and connectors will even allow you to retain the OEM connector most of the time.
If there is a common theme in any universal part it is this: Adapt or Die! Even if a part is universal, there may be adapters, brackets, wiring, or even fabrication required to make a part work. Manufacturers try to plan for every possible bike for every situation they can think of. However, this is impossible considering most of these parts are sold all over the world for bikes of several manufacturers and even model changes between a single bike model in several countries. I would make it a kin to guessing the lottery in several countries and some of those countries may be 4 numbers, some maybe 6, some may use letters.
Universal parts aren't always perfect either. You may have to trim them to fit, clean them up, or even paint them. Again, they are designed as universal parts, so some fit and finish is required to make them work. This is also the case where if you don't know what you're doing, it will be better to hire someone who does. If you can't wire up lights, you can't paint, or you have never turned a wrench in your life, this may not be the best time to learn; but even so, this isn't always the case. If it is a part that requires you to tighten a bolt or a nut, yeah, anyone could do it. However, painting, cutting, and wiring are completely different animals. Those issues are things someone with experience should handle. So don't be afraid of universal parts or having to stick with one aftermarket manufacturer, it's all about making your bike yours!

Motorcycles and Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)

It's probably not unfair to say that the Compulsory Basic Training or CBT for motorcycles has gone a long way to changing the public perception of motorbikes and those that ride them on the public highways. It (the CBT) was introduced more than two decades ago with the specific intention of reducing motorcycle related accidents on the road. With a combination of on road and off road training, those who proceed with the training are far more equipped for on road situations, than they would have been before the introduction of the test.
Motorbikes have endured a love - hate relationship over the years, although much of the hate has come from people who have perhaps been affected in some way by accidents involving these two wheeled machines. However, although there is a sporty, daring element that is indeed associated with bikes, it is a fact that many people, every single day, rely on them practically for their basic means of transportation.
For young people, the temptation has always been that a moped or low powered motorcycle is actually much cheaper to buy and run than a car and so as a result we see a lot of teenagers and young adults with motorcycles. The great news is that since 1990 when the CBT requirements were put into place, there has been a much greater emphasis on safety in every aspect of a motorcyclist's life.
So, just who is the CBT for? If you want to ride on a machine with a power of anything up to 125cc, then the training is for you. For those people aged between 17 and 21, there is also a practical test for a 125cc machine. If passed, the rider will actually only be able to ride bikes and mopeds within this power category for the next two years. There is something different for those aged 21 and over to complete and this is known as DAS or the Direct Access Scheme and this is the scheme that grants access to bikes that are bigger and more powerful.
Most of these courses and training schemes are conducted within the safe confines of a training centre, which allows professional trainers to monitor and guide each rider in their development. No rider will be taken onto the public roads, until the trainers deem that they are proficient enough with their motorcycle to do so.
So, it is clear that motorcycle safety has improved dramatically in recent years and largely thanks to the awareness of the compulsory basic training.
Probike Motorcycle Training Ltd is dedicated to improving the standards of motorcyclists before they hit the road and offer facilities for compulsory basic training as well as other tests.

Types Of Fabrics Used In The Manufacturing of Motorcycle Jackets

Expert Author Mohsin Aziz
Do you adhere to the belief that a biker jacket is predominantly manufactured from leather? Are you reluctant to experiment with motorcycle jackets made from fabrics other than leather because you regard leather as being the most durable production material available in the market?
If you answer in the affirmative to any of the aforementioned questions, you are probably not that well-informed when it comes to fashionable apparel. On the contrary, bikers who have a well-groomed fashion sense are probably aware of the fact that motorcycle jackets are manufactured from a wide variety of fabrics. Leather, denim, nylon, and polyester are some of the most common fabrics used in the production of high quality biker jackets. Listed below are some of the characteristic features of motorcycle jackets manufactured from different types of fabrics.
1. Leather Motorcycle Jackets
If you were inspired by the brown leather jacket donned by Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones, you probably think that leather epitomizes ruggedness and assertiveness; in short, a heroic demeanor. It is note-worthy that apart from the apparent charm exuded by leather biker jackets, these apparel items have several essential functional characteristics as well. Some of these eye-catching attributes are highlighted below.
a) These jackets have a soft, supple exterior surface and are elastic that makes them exceedingly comfortable for the wearer. A leather biker jacket has a certain degree of firmness as well that enhances its shape retaining ability.
b) For increased durability, high quality leather jackets are encrusted with aluminum hardware and have reinforced nylon stitching that makes them both abrasion and wind resistant.
c) Leather motorcycle jackets for men are available in customized versions as well; therefore, you can head to any reliable motorcycle apparel outlet and place an order for a well-tailored racy leather jacket similar to the one donned by Brad Pitt in Fight Club.
2. Biker Jackets Made From Polyester Mesh Fabric
Individuals affiliated with the textile industry are acutely aware of the fact that polyester mesh fabric is usually used in the manufacturing of athletic wear. However, a biker jacket constructed from this fabric has numerous attractive hallmarks as well! Some of these attributes are outlined below.
a) A motorcycle jacket that has an outer covering made of polyester will provide optimal ventilation to the biker throughout the riding experience. Additionally, most mesh jackets have an inner lining manufactured from perforated nylon that grants maximum air flow to various regions of the upper torso.
b) Another spectacular feature of polyester jackets is that they have a removable thermal lining, thus making this garment an ideal wear for both summers and winters.
c) One of the extraordinary hallmarks of polyester is that it is shrink-resistant and can be washed and dried easily. Moreover, polyester motorcycle jackets for women afford an optimal degree of chemical and wrinkle resistance, thus making them ideal biker wear for everyday use.

10 Tips for a Routine Motorcycle Inspection

Expert Author Liz Jansen
Our bikes carry the most precious cargo there is - us. Taking time for a routine inspection can make a big difference when it comes to safety and our enjoyment of the ride. No one wants to be stranded on the side of the road, or have an accident because of mechanical failure.
We know that we're vulnerable on the road and that riding a motorcycle carries risk.  We can do a lot to lesson that risk by making both we and our bikes are fit and ready to ride.
Pre-ride inspections confirm they're worthy to carry us; checking them post-ride will catch any parts that may have come loose and we'll be able to note minor changes before they become major problems.
Your best resource is your owner's manual. Make these items part of your regular checks:
  1. Tires:

    • Pressure: Measure when tires are cold. Both the tire and motorcycle manufacturer will have specifications and in all likelihood, front and rear tires will be different.
    • Tread: If you're down to the wear bars, it's time for new tires. Look for worn tread, uneven wear, cracks, bulges, cupping, and any foreign objects. The photo shows something we found at one of our workshops.
  2. Spokes: Uniformly tight and intact; they can be tightened with a spoke wrench. Rims need to be true with no dents.

  3. Drive System: Unless it's electric, your bike will have either a chain, belt drive or drive shaft. Make sure chain tension is correct and that it's well lubricated. Check drive belt for wear and tension; if you have a shaft drive, check fluid levels and that there are no leaks.

  4. Cables & hoses: No fraying or kinking; no binding when handlebars are activated.

  5. Fluid levels: Oil, brake fluid, transmission, and coolant. Refer to your owner's manual for the correct way to assess. Make sure there are no leaks.

  6. Lights and electrics: Activate brake light with front and rear brakes independently; check front and rear indicators, horn, headlights - high and low beams.

  7. Throttle: Should snap back to home position.

  8. Brakes: - check brake pads for wear periodically. Test both front and rear to make sure they're working satisfactorily.

  9. Side stand: Retracts firmly: no bending, cracks or damage; the spring is intact and the cut-out switch functions.

  10. Clutch and brake levers: Smooth operation, correct amount of free play and proper adjustment.
Bonus: Look in the mirror. Make sure that you are physically, mentally and emotionally fit to ride.

Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom Systems, Review of the Chatterbox XBi2

He said... (Mark DT)
My primary reason for purchasing this ironically was not as an intercom. My lovely wife had bought me a really nice farkle for my birthday. My gift for turning the big 4-0 was a really cool Garmin Zumo 660 GPS. The Zumo 660 has the capability to stream wireless stereo sound via Bluetooth to devices capable of receiving A2DP, which in non-techno geek talk means stereo Bluetooth.
Why did I choose the Chatterbox XBI2At the time it was one of the very few wireless motorcycle intercom Bluetooth devices that used A2DP, and I was certain that I wanted a stereo feed. Reading consumer review sites like this one, the audio quality appeared to be quite good. So, I went onto the mighty consumer shopping mall, known as the Internet, and with a quick search came up with a good price and ordered.
A few days later two boxes arrived, (one for both my wife's helmet and my own). Time to figure out how to install and pair this intercom system. Kudos to the manufacturer: they used the magic of YouTube to give instructions on how to do everything. In reality, it is so simple to install the headset that it wasn't necessary, but it made the entire process even easier.
We both use full face helmets. The first helmet took around 30 minutes to install the full Bluetooth helmet speaker set. No doubt I read, and re-read the instructions three or more times, determined not to make any mistakes. The second helmet took only around 12 minutes. If I had to do it again I might make it in under 10 minutes. All that is involved is fitting the ear speakers, the microphone, tucking the wires, and installing the clip that holds the communicator. Between the clear included instruction guide, and their online video instructions installation is a snap.
Pairing the XBi2 to the Garmin Zumo 660 GPS was simple. Pairing them to each other, took me a few attempts. I ended up phoning Chatterbox's customer service number included in the directions and straight away my call was answered by a knowledgeable rep. He talked me through my mistake and bingo the communication units were magically paired up. Again two thumbs up to the manufacturer for having a real person answer the phone on the second ring, and getting my problem solved in under 2 minutes.
So how does it all work? Really, really well. On its own, if you buy this simply to use as a means to pair to a GPS or cell phone you won't be disappointed. Beautiful loud clear stereo sound. The microphone/speakers are of high quality. Music sounds great, GPS instructions are loud and clear, and telephone calls are easy to conduct. Right up to legal North American highway speeds, even with foam earplugs in, I am able to fully exploit all the functions within the GPS. On the track, at speeds above 130 km/h or 80 mph sounds remain audible, but the noise of wind etc on my semi fared bike do reduce the total audio experience. At high speeds the audio quality is more a function of your bike's wind management than anything else. No doubt those that use a quiet higher quality helmet will also have a better experience than those with a noisy lid.
Now how about as a motorcycle intercom. Again, it works really well. Stated communication range is half a mile or 800 meters, but I have found it will do even better so long as there is clear line of sight. The intercom is voice activated. Remember this when positioning your mic. Sound quality was excellent up to 115 km/h or 70 mph with it still being good above 130 km/h or 80 mph. Beyond these speeds one likely won't be too interested in chatting anyways, and the sound quality suffered due to insufficient volume to counter the rider/speed induced wind noise.
I often hear my riding buddies, (those whose wives don't ride), say that they would never want an intercom. I can say with all honesty I believe an intercom is one of the best safety enhancements to riding with a partner out there. Being able to communicate that there is loose gravel ahead, oil on the road, deer, moose, or even "sorry, missed the exit, we'll ride another mile before turning now", means that both riders are better able to focus on the road, and not have to watch each other as closely. That means both will better be able to scan for traffic and road hazards. Before when riding with my wife; I always felt a little bit handcuffed, checking the mirrors three times more than normal, and worrying about how she was doing. (Was the pace too fast, etc.) Now we can talk to one another as easily as if we are sitting next to each other in the car. I find riding together a lot more relaxing than ever before, and as a result I think we both have more fun with an increased margin of safety. She has also saved my bacon more than once by verbally warning me of dangerous cagers flying across multiple lanes or in my blind spot.
If you are lucky enough to have a spouse that rides, you owe it to each other to get a motorcycle intercom system. You will find that safety improves, and you both will be more relaxed and focused on the riding.
I am very impressed with the Chatterbox XBi2 and would recommend it without hesitation. There are other companies out there that make similar products, namely Scala and Sena and speaking with other riders that use them, all have had similar positive experiences. If I can leave you with any recommendation, it is just make sure that whatever you buy, make sure it will pair with whatever devices you use already (eg iPhone, GPS, etc.) Personally, I wouldn't consider buying an intercom that didn't stream in stereo (A2DP).
Being able be guided clearly by your motorcycle navigator, take phone calls, listen to your favorite tunes, and most importantly chat with your better half riding on another motorcycle half a mile away is a revelation. It is certainly worth a few hundred bucks, and is money I would spend ahead of many other farkles.
and she said... (Anne DT)
At first I wasn't sold on the idea of an intercom as I thought it was going to be distracting while riding. I was afraid that we were going to have long conversations like you would in a car and I was worried that this would distract me from focusing on the road. Reality is that we do not say that much to each other when we are riding, however, when we do, the comments made have often saved the ride from being a bad experience.
We can now point out dangers to each other, and I can now suggest that we stop somewhere instead of having to wait for my husband to make the decision. I always ride behind my husband and sometimes when you see something interesting you want to check out (read: ice cream shop!) it makes the ride so much more enjoyable when you can communicate this to the person you are riding with. No more waving arms and confusing hand signals when we are out riding together.
The installation seemed pretty straightforward. At least I didn't hear any swear words from the garage while my husband was working on this project. No requests for band aids either.
I feel a lot more at ease riding with my husband when I am able to communicate with him. Being able to let him know if I would like to stop somewhere and hearing his reassuring voice makes me a lot more relaxed and enjoy the ride a lot more than before we had the motorcycle intercom system installed.

The Engine: What Route Should I Go on My Honda Ruckus?

Expert Author Dravor Spencer
Everyone wants to go faster but the 49cc GET engine in the Honda Ruckus just isn't fast enough. Sure it can get you to 40-43MPH, but that isn't fast enough to keep up with traffic in most cases! That's just not safe, especially with the increase in distracted driving cases and motorcycle crashes. So, what can we do? How can we pick up more speed after maxing out what the variator, CVT, and gearing changes did? Luckily, there are a couple of Honda Ruckus parts on the table and we'll discuss them today!
The Honda Ruckus is quickly becoming the scooter to have to try and push to 50+MPH. The Honda reliability in the chassis and engine beckon tinkerers to make it faster. While not very common, increasing the bore of the Ruckus is starting to become popular; it offers great gains, but has some tradeoffs. The first tradeoff is time. The GET is a water-cooled engine and you have to take the cylinder off of the bike and take it down to a machine shop to bore out the cylinder to the size you need. Many machine shops are not capable of this because of how small the bore of the Ruckus is.
The next trade off is loss of reliability. With any upgrade, there is a risk of losing all reliability and it is especially so with the big bore upgrade to the GET engine. The final tradeoff is heat. With the big bore making the cylinder walls thinner, there is less area to shed heat from the cylinder, even with water-cooling. The oil also begins to heat up more, thus causing many failures in the engine.
If that puts you off of the big bore upgrade, there is good news in the engine swap arena. The Ruckus frame just begs to have something else in it. It is such a piece me together bike, it is no wonder people ask if you made it yourself. This is what makes the engine swap possible and slightly easier in the Ruckus versus other scooters. The most common is the Ruckus GY6 Swap, as the engine is cheap and plentiful. It is used in so many Chinese built scooters, you can find it anywhere. Even brand new, the GY6 is still inexpensive to purchase with most going for less than $500 out the door (but still would require a wheel made for the GY6). If you want the best wheel choices, you'll want to get a long CVT case engine as it will allow for up to a 13" wheel with low profile tires.
Once you get the GY6 engine, you'll have to choose how to mount it. There are many companies that offer GY6 swap mounts that range from inexpensive, normal tire weld-in mounts to completely bolt in 8" + fatty tire mounts. It's really up to you which direction you'd want to go. As with anything, there are some tradeoffs that must be considered.
The first is that this is a Chinese built engine. This isn't to knock everything Chinese made, but their reputation isn't exactly great. Reliability may be an issue on a used engine and a little less so on a new one. Second, this will not bolt into the OEM GET engine mounts or even aftermarket GET mounts. It looks similar, but it is not the same as it is wider. Third, the GY6 engine, even the 50cc short-case version, will not hook up to the GET wiring harness without modification or a new harness. Finally, there may be some legal issues with a swap. If you have to smog test your scooter, then a GY6 swap may not pass as most of the GY6 swaps involve the 125cc and 150cc versions. The short case 50cc GY6 could possibly pass, but you will not be gaining anything in that swap other than an air-cooled engine.
However, don't let this put you off of doing a GY6 engine or even big boring the GET engine. While each has negative tradeoffs, there is one positive tradeoff that overshadows them. That is the power you gain from a big bore or engine swap. The 125cc and 150cc GY6 engines are nearly capable of 60MPH out of the box and big bore GETs have shown anywhere from 55-60MPH. Whichever way you go, you will have a bike capable of beating most traffic on those surface streets.

Avoid Being Involved in a Motorcycle Accident

Riding a motorcycle is one flashy way to travel. You can definitely say that you are riding a long in style whenever you are riding a motorcycle to any destination. It just looks good, and there are a lot of motorcycles that are not only designed to look good, but are also built for more speed.
There is a catch, however, to all the flash and style of riding a motorcycle. Along with all of those great things come the heightened risk of being involved in an accident. It is a VERY real part of traveling on the road -- and it is not relegated to just motorcycles, but to all kinds of vehicles.
It must be noted, however that because a motorcycle rider is more exposed, the extent of the injuries suffered are also quite higher than those in other types of vehicles. So you have to face the reality that accidents DO happen and they actually happen quite a lot. The challenge for motorcycle riders is to minimize the chance of them being involved in one, and that can only be done through being properly informed.
Defensive Motorcycle Driving Tips
One way of possibly avoiding accidents while riding your motorcycle is by driving defensively. You could actually say that to ride defensively is equal or tantamount to the prevention of accidents. Sure, being defensive is not a sure guarantee, but the chances of your having an accident is lessened to a certain degree.
These are the steps that could likely be responsible for saving your life;
1. Maintenance is the key - Maintaining your vehicle properly is one thing that should be at the top of your priority list as a motorcycle owner. Check if you have a lot of gas, and also check your tires and fluids. A machine that is running at its best is less likely to break down on the road or give you too much trouble while you are riding it.
2. Be confident out there, but don't be too aggressive - Even as you would like to emphasize defensive driving as a motorcycle rider, you need to have the proper amount of confidence in yourself and your driving abilities. And you definitely can't go out there and be a little bit too intimidated. That will only encourage the other drivers to be too aggressive on you and take advantage of the seeming timidity that you are showing, allowing them to dominate you on the road.
3. Always wear the right clothes and riding equipment - Not being in the right clothes or having the right riding equipment could very well mean the difference between a slight scratch and a serious injury. It could certainly help minimize what could otherwise have been a serious accident.
4. It pays to be seen -
If you are just in the process of selecting your motorcycle, then you should choose a large one that is brightly colored and is a little louder than the others. To be noticed by other drivers on the road could contribute towards helping you avoid getting into any kind of accident.

10 Questions to Ask Before Riding Your Motorcycle

Expert Author Liz Jansen
Riding your motorcycle makes you vulnerable. Operating it safely requires skill, focus, physical and emotional strength.
Not only do we have to know how to operate a powerful machine and make split-second decisions, we're often navigating unfamiliar territory, watching for traffic signs, scanning building numbers, reading maps, trying to figure out how other drivers are going to act or watching for (four-legged) animals. And let's not forget to watch where we're going!
We can do a lot to lessen that risk by making both we and our bikes are fit and ready to ride.
10 Questions to ask yourself before you get on your motorcycle.
  1. Am I tired? According to the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators, fatigue is a factor in up to 21 per cent of motor vehicle collisions. Fatigue can be caused by lack of sleep, cold, heat and riding for long periods of time.

  2. Am I distracted or emotionally upset? You need all your faculties to focus on the ride. If you've just been fired or broken up with your girlfriend, it's a good idea to wait and simmer down before going for a ride.

  3. Am I rushed? Rushing causes us to be impatient, forget things and take shortcuts. It also creates a tendency to speed and be less tolerant of others on the road. All of these things are ingredients for a collision.

  4. Do I have the skills to go where I'm going? Be realistic. As an instructor, I've heard jubilant students who've just passed the basic rider course effuse about their plans to now go and ride the Tail of the Dragon. They're ill prepared to do so and stand a good chance of crashing - or causing a crash.

  5. Do I have the correct gear? Think about the temperatures you're likely to encounter and whether you'll need warmer/cooler clothing or rain gear. Also, if you're expecting a fair amount of rain, it's wise to carry back-up gloves and clothing.

  6. Am I prepared for an emergency? Depending on where you're going and the length of your ride, carry a cell phone, water, snacks. If you're somewhere without cell service, think about how you're going to manage if you or your motorcycle have a breakdown.

  7. Am I feeling OK? Physical well-being affects our mental and emotional capabilities. If we're not feeling well, it's better to wait and play it safe.

  8. Have I taken anything that could impair my judgment? Alcohol, prescription or non-prescription medication can impair your senses and judgment before you're even aware of it. Don't take chances. Alcohol and motorcycles are a deadly combination.

  9. Am I going because I want to go or I am feeling peer pressure? Your safety is too important to let others influence your choices. If you do not want to ride for whatever reason, don't. True friends will understand.

  10. What is my intuition telling me to do? This is the acid test for me. If logically, there is no reason why I shouldn't be riding, yet my intuition is advising me otherwise, I listen. It's never let me down.

Motorcycle Batteries: How to Choose a Motorcycle Battery

Expert Author Robert Playford
Motorcycle batteries are needed to provide energy to keep the motorcycle running. There are certain criteria that one needs to follow in order to pick the right motorcycle battery. First of all, one should consider the number of times that he wants to replace the battery. An average battery can last between 3 to 5 years. However, a battery that needs replacement earlier than this time is not a good choice. Reliability is another factor that needs to be considered. Most riders will choose conventional batteries as they are the best in reliability. Such batteries are dependable and function optimally in all weathers and can withstand harsh environments, for example bumpy and hilly terrain. With such a battery, a rider should never worry when he has to ride off-road. However, batteries with high dependability rates require more maintenance like frequent addition of water and cleaning.
The best motorcycle batteries are convenient. This means that they are maintenance free. Sealed batteries are the most convenient as they do not lose a lot of water due to the reduced exposed surface area. Such batteries are also the best for people who do not like frequently servicing their bikes or are afraid of acid burns in case of an accidental leakage. Apart from these general factors, a rider should also consider his personal needs. For example, warm weather drains batteries faster than cold weather. A rider living in such conditions should therefore consider buying a battery that offers long life. One should consider the reason and functionality of the bike. Some people are professional riders while others just take short-distance rides for leisure. Heavy and long-distance motorcycle users should buy batteries that need frequent recharging as opposed to short-distance riders who ought to buy those that do not require the frequent recharging. This is because short-trips do not offer a convenient platform for proper recharging.
Some of the best motorcycle batteries include the Leoch motorcycle battery model. This model has several makes, of which some use the AGM technology, others are factory sealed while others are standard. The LT dry series uses the AGM technology, is durable and leak resistant, among other impressive qualities. The LT T4-BS features a voltage of 16 and a capacity of 4Ah. The LT5 to LT15 series have a higher voltage of 12 and capacities of up to 13. The Leoch EB wet series has an injection molding structure, durable and wet charged design among other meritorious qualities. The EB14-A3 for example has both a voltage and capacity of 12.
For all your Motorcycle Batteries choose Great Outdoors Online who offer a fabulous range of top quality, competitively priced products for those of you who enjoy caravaning, golf, taking your pets out, cycling, motoring, motor cycling and getting out on your mobility scooter.

Motorcycle Luggage Required for Camping Trips

Expert Author Mohsin Aziz
When Ernesto Che Guevara translated his desire of seeing the entire South American continent into a reality and embarked on an elaborate motorcycle journey, his entire perspective of life underwent a major transformation. Following his traveling endeavor, this iconic revolutionary devoted his entire lifetime to the emancipation of the proletariat. Not surprisingly, traveling or solitary journey is often equated with individual or spiritual awakening.
If you are a biking enthusiast whose ideal weekend getaway is camping, you are probably aware that there is something about wildlife that compels one to reflect on life's larger realities. Regardless of whether you're a Che admirer or not, you can't deny that to a certain degree, camping is essential for intellectual and philosophical evolution. However, unlike Che you can't merely rely on the great outdoors to provide you with all the vital necessities. Therefore, it is significant that prior to venturing out on your excursion you select durable and appropriate sized motorcycle luggage - one that will easily accommodate the following accessories.
• Any camping experience would be incomplete and joyless without the presence of a campfire, particularly in winters. For lighting a cozy fire, you'll need to pack matches or butane lighter. Additionally, if the weather forecast predicts an unusually foggy weather in your designated camp site, pack an extra pair of socks, undershirts and pants since damp clothing will make your weekend trip extremely uncomfortable. To pack all of these items, you can select from a wide variety of reliable saddlebags such as tank bags or chopper bags.
• Granted you'll feel restless throughout your trip due to the high adrenaline level, nonetheless it is never a wise decision to compromise on your beauty sleep. For sleeping purposes make sure that you purchase a waterproof fold-able sleeping bag that can be easily adjusted in a large-sized sissy bar bag.
• Fragrant air, a sense of perpetual peace and deep-green leaves soothing to the eyes are some of the irresistible attractions of a camping site. In the midst of such serenity, your artistic faculties are bound to get reinvigorated; therefore, it would be a good idea to bring along some drawing paper and pencils and enjoy some quite moments of outdoor sketching! To prevent your sketching pencils and paper from getting jumbled up, it is recommended that you opt for a back pack or any other saddlebag that has in-built organizer compartments.
• For emergency purposes it is vital that you pack your eye drops, Band-Aids, aspirin or any other medication prescribed by your physician. Harley bags have several small pockets for secure keeping of these small traveling items and will therefore, serve as your ideal luggage bags in this regard. Moreover, in order to find your way about the woods without the least hassle be sure to bring along trail guides and maps. To accommodate these accessories, you can opt for tank bags that have top transparent pockets for safekeeping of maps.
If you are interested in purchasing premium quality Motorcycle Luggage, or want to choose the best Harley Bags for your camping trip, then thoroughly read this article.

The Marks of Excellent Motorcycle Service

As a motorcycle owner, one of your responsibilities is to take your bike to a motorcycle repair shop on a regular basis. Remember that your motorbike doesn't have to get broken before you consider having motorcycle repairs. If you want your motorbike to stay in perfect and safe condition, make sure that you regularly keep it in check so that all necessary repairs or modifications may be performed. In choosing the right motorcycle service center, there are certain things you need to consider or qualities and features to look for. Needless to say, you want only the experts to take care of all the repairs needed by your bike.
A good motorcycle repair shop is very difficult to find and many bike owners unfortunately learn this fact the hard way. There are many repair shops that will find different ways of increasing their service fees, or they may even charge customers for services that are actually not necessary. Some mechanics also are not able to complete the repairs on time, although they may do the job properly. With all these said, it is very important that you look for a reputable motorbike repair shop so you can experience great services.
Here are some of the qualities you should look for in searching for a motorbike service center:
Reliability
The main possible reason you are taking your motorbike to a repair shop is to address some issues with your bike. It is likely that you don't know how to determine the exact motorcycle problems you are having, so you will rely on the expertise of the mechanics in a motorcycle service center. A good mechanic, in particular, should not take too much time trying to figure out what aspect of your bike needs repair. The more quickly they spot the problem, the more reliable they are as this just means that they have the experience in dealing with such cases.
Time Guarantee
As you take your motorbike to the repair shop, one of your biggest concerns is actually the time it would take for your machine to be completely serviced. You should ask the mechanic when exactly you may get your bike back. Since a good repair shop should accurately diagnose your motorcycle problems, they would also have an idea of how long it would take to remedy all these problems.
Availability of Supplies
Ideally, a motorcycle repair shop should also have different motorcycle parts and accessories available. This way, customers will not have to look for another shop to buy the important parts to replace the older ones in their motorcycles.
Warranty
One of the best traits of a good motorcycle service center is the warranty they will offer. These days, it is very common for motorcycle repair shops to give discounts to their fees and other charges. But there are some shops that will also offer free repairs within a specific time frame to the motorcycles they have serviced. As a customer, this is a huge advantage as you will not have to spend on repairs once more should the same problems occur in your bike within that duration.

Writing Articles on Motorcycle Topics Considered

Expert Author Lance Winslow
Riding motorcycles is exhilarating, and it hardly matters what type of motorcycle you are riding. Many of us grow up riding dirt bikes, or get our first Street bike as a teenager. We end up watching the races, and then going and trying some of those tricks on our own. As folks get older they wish to slowdown a little bit and they might get themselves a Harley-Davidson and enjoy the open road, there is nothing better. Just man and machine and the ultimate freedom - that's what motorcycling is all about.
Over the past few years I've written a number of articles trying to explain this to people, and I've also read a number of online articles authored by others. What I find is there is a big difference in the style of writing, and the passion behind the words. If you're going to write on motorcycle topics then you need to understand this, and bring that emotion forward for your reader. You might think it is difficult to come up with subtopics on the subject of motorcycles, but I assure you it's not. Below are just a few of the subtopics, which are the most read types of motorcycle articles online;
Reviews
Insurance
Accessories
Maintenance
Industry Sales
Motorcycle Gangs
Traffic Laws, Rules
Motorcycle Racing
Side Car Equipment
Industry Innovations
Motorcycle Touring and Rides
If you're going to write articles that review equipment or new cycles, then you really need to ride it, before you write about it. Far too many people read reviews in popular magazines on motorcycles, and then try to rewrite their articles, but it never does justice to the bike, and it is unfair to the reader as you are giving bad advice, and using trickery tactics in doing so. Insurance is a big topic, and it is an important one because bikes are dangerous, and unfortunate events can occur.
The industry itself is pretty interesting as there are always new accessories, innovations, and the ups and downs of the economic sectors. Then there are the racing teams and all of their news, and about the time you finish one article, there's another race somewhere giving you something else to write about.
Another set of topics enjoyed by readers are articles about the X Games, and extreme motorcycling. There is quite an abundance of thirst out there for this type of online content, but there are just not enough writers on this subject to do it justice. If you love motorcycles, and love the freedom, and if you find yourself authoring articles, I hope you will help me out in preparing quality content on the subject.

Early History of Indian Motorcycle Company

Although the Indian Motorcycle Company was founded and started two years before the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Company, it has not been able to stay on track nearly as long as this legendary company. However, its history is rich and exciting, and even though the motorcycles are no longer being manufactured in the original aspect, Indian continues to bring forth admirers and collectors of these amazing bikes.
The Indian Motorcycle Co. was founded in 1901 by George M. Hendee and Carl Oscar Hedstrom in Springfield, Massachusetts. In the early days, the company was known as the Hendee Mar Company, and started its beginning with America's very first motorcycle. The company was technologically advanced in a number of ways, including the introduction of the very first V-twin bike in the year 1907. This was far more advanced than the single motorcycles being produced by Harley-Davidson even in 1910.
In 1916, before World War I, Indian Motorcycles was one of approximately 20 American motorcycle companies that were trying to make it in the volatile market. Indian Motorcycle Co. accounted for 40 percent of the market share in 1916, making it one of the most popular in its time. The Powerplus line of bikes was sold to the US government in the years 1917 and 1918 for use in the military. As World War II arose, both Indian and Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Company manufactured their motorcycles for military use, specifically the United States Army. The Army even requested a specialized motorcycle design that would allow fighting in deserts, and the Indian Motorcycle Company stepped up to the plate and produced a specific motorcycle for the military's needs. The 841 was born and a thousand were manufactured for the government.
In 1945, the company was bought out by Ralph B. Rogers, and many changes were made that may have caused the demise of the Indian Motorcycle Co. The more popular bikes, such as the Scout, were discontinued, and more lightweight designs were manufactured and introduced by 1949. However, the quality of these bikes were sub par, and loyal owners began to lose interest and hope in the future of the company. The company filed for bankruptcy and stopped producing motorcycles in 1953.
Indian Motorcycle Company has an exciting history that includes military support and many years as one of the top motorcycle companies in America, outselling and outperforming Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the early years. As many other companies have continued to try and build off the Indian Motorcycle Company name, the original designs and manufactured bikes are highly sought after by motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors.

Motorcycle Boots - Features That Make Ideal Footwear

Expert Author Mohsin Aziz
Italian mobsters are notorious for taking extreme measures in order to safeguard their life and well-being. If you have always been a fan of mobster flicks, chances are you were mesmerized by the lustrous, trendy and classy leather jackets donned by Donnie Brasco. Ever since the groundbreaking success of that film, Donnie Brasco style jackets have been widely sought out by mechanics, biker boys/girls and any other individual who likes to sport a dashing look! Another bike apparel item that has gained immense popularity amongst the general public is a pair of high quality motorcycle boots.
Aside from the glamorous look displayed by biker boots, they also serve to protect the feet in the event of a crash. Protective footwear is significant because a foot injury will not only prevent you from riding but will also deter you from going to your basketball practice or any other favorite pastime. To elicit maximum advantage from your riding boots, make sure that they have the following features.
• It won't be an exaggeration to say that our roads and highways have become breeding grounds for fatalities. A minor oversight with regards to one's safety can therefore, sentence one to a lifetime of regret. Motorbike boots manufactured from thick rubber or heavy leather protect the ankles, feet and shins from gravel, spilled-oil and pebbles.
• Since toes are the most vulnerable regions of the feet, proper riding apparel would be incomplete without the presence of a motorcycle boot fitted with steel toes. The hard steely surface acts as a cushion for the toes thereby minimizing the damage caused by a rough impact.
• To derive maximum benefit from your footwear, it should serve as a comfortable fit. To ensure attractive fitting, Harley Davidson boots have zipper flaps or high-quality lace-ups attached to them. The lace-ups can be tightened or loosened depending on one's level of comfort and can be safely tucked in to avoid potential distractions.
• Any esteemed riding veteran will tell you that for aggressive riders, a firm grip on the pedals could create a difference between life and death! Ankle biker boots having medium heels provide a strong hold on the foot pegs, thereby decreasing the rider's chances of skidding off the road.
• Amongst all health complaints highlighted by bikers, scathed feet occupy the foremost position. These burns are caused by fumes emanating from the exhaust. To counter this problem, most men motorcycle boots are made from vented material that allows free air circulation thereby preventing the soles of the feet from overheating.
• Whereas it is essential for a biker boot to offer durability and slip-resistance, a visually appealing exterior is a plus point when it comes to generating an outstanding look that sets you apart from the herd! Fortunately, motorcycle boots for women are available in bold and sumptuous colors such as red, pink, blue, purple and orange. So all of you female bikers out there should renounce your inhibitions and experiment with these head-turning color combinations!
All of you adept bikers who are interested in protective footwear, visit motorcycle boots, or if you are an adventurous female biker, do visit motorcycle boots for women for fulfilling your biker apparel needs.

Motorcycle Saddlebags - Your Key to a Fulfilling Journey

Expert Author Mohsin Aziz
When traveling long distances you are bound to come across many stop signs; and there is nothing more frustrating than combing through all of your bag's contents to find your ID card for verification purposes. What's worse is that during your painstaking search you are bound to knock your rain gear over your lap top, thereby disorganizing all of your accessories. In order to avoid this unpleasant situation it is recommended that you take the time out to visit a reliable biker store and choose a suitable type of motorcycle luggage from the wide variety of motorcycle saddlebags displayed on the stands.
If you are a novice when it comes to selecting an optimal quality saddlebag, the following discussion will serve to facilitate you in your luggage search.
• If you usually prefer long cruises, make sure that your saddlebag has enough room to accommodate your vital traveling accessories such as rain gear, extra clothing, helmet, snacks and water bottles. It would also be wise to check your bag for inner compartments and small internal pockets since these are ideal for keeping your toiletries, notebooks and emergency phone numbers.
• If you are a college student or an ambitious entrepreneur you should opt for those types of motorcycle bags that have a padded inner surface or a foam lining. The soft, cushy surface will provide a protective covering for your lap top, tablet or any other expensive electronic device that can easily get scratched or damaged.
• Leather motorbike bags are available in varied sizes. The size of the bag that you ultimately choose for yourself should be determined according to your vocational and other interests. If you have a fascination for bird watching you'll need to have the relevant equipment such as bird spotting scopes, binoculars and a birding tripod with you during your excursions. All of these items can only be comfortably fitted in an extra-large motorcycle saddlebag. On the contrary, if you are merely going to the local library, a medium-sized bag would perfectly serve your needs.
• If you have a flare for dirt bike riding, it is recommended that you purchase a motorcycle bag made from leather since numerous conditioning and cleansing agents are available in the market that will enable you to easily wipe your leather biker bag. Harley saddlebags manufactured from leather are an ideal choice for dirt bike riding.
• If you like to make a grand impression on someone it would only be prudent to opt for a chirpy-colored motorcycle saddlebag. On the contrary, if you like to maintain a low-profile and prefer durability over looks, you can select from the beige, black or brown hard luggage bags available at various motorcycle outlets.

5 Features to Consider When Installing Motorcycle Tires

Expert Author Charity K Kadzo
Wondering whether or not you will be riding your motorcycle more in the streets or off-road? Wonder no more. A lot of riders find it difficult when choosing the right tires for their bikes because of the uncertainty in the wide range of selection provided. Manufactures of motorcycle tires such as Pirelli Motorcycle Tires have a great solution for such riders.
Dual purpose sports tires are highly recommended in such instances where a rider wants to maintain a variety of terrain types especially during a race. How you choose the right tires for your motorcycle will determine your performance.
Picking the right motorcycle tires
A very crucial part of selecting the right tires is matching them with your motorcycle. Check the brand and understand the type but at the same time ensuring that you buy the same size and type.
Research on the tire type that match your motorcycle
Check the type of terrain the motorcycle tire has been built for. For instance, Pirelli motorcycle tires have four categories suitable for various terrains. Make sure you get information on the specifications and construction materials you are taking into account before you buy your tires to enable you enjoy a smoother ride.
Weather condition
The terrain one encounters as a rider depends on the weather condition of a specific area. It is important to take into consideration and research which tires best suit the terrain you will use or come across. A Pirelli motorcycle has tread patterns that are efficient for use on terrain type it was built for and managing the high performance required for the road.
Cost of tires
A rider always wants his bike to look stylish and attract stares from onlookers. Check on the strength and durability of the tires you want to buy. In most cases the most expensive tire cost does not guarantee the durability and performance, compared to the less expensive which may provide the highest standards in comparison. Invest in high quality bike tires that will save you more cash and serve you for longer. Pirelli motorcycle tires are a great example for tires that perform highly and can be purchased at affordable prices.
Selecting the design of your tires
It is important to stay with the same brand of tires especially if you are placing different size on your motorcycle. Pirelli motorcycle tires provide a wide range for variety of terrains. Get a front tire with a tall bend for fast steering and pick a back tire with less tread patterns for better road-gripping capabilities for quick starts. It is important to note that in case your tires get damaged then select a replacement tire of the same brand name, dimension and speed rating.
